Dylan Ramsey was born in Prague Czech Republic to a Polish Jewish mother and an Egyptian Muslim father. He was raised in Toronto Ontario, Canada and educated in New York at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. He now lives in Los Angeles, California. Dylan has been described as a walking melting pot of characters for stage and screen. Assuming roles as varied as his background, he has made his mark with his iconoclastic compelling character shadings in performances ranging from the relentless torturous special forces soldier Rashid Al-Sabi on FOX's 24: Legacy (2016) to a wise-cracking vulnerable male cross-dressing prostitute, with a sensitivity that gives life to the role, Ginger, in HBO's Donny & Ginger (2007).
Dylan started to dance when she was just 3 years old. She trains in jazz, lyrical, contemporary, modern, ballet, hip hop, tap, circus, tumbling and acro. Dylan enjoys training and competing at conventions in Canada and the US. Dylan has received several dance awards including the BC Provincials Winner for Junior Stage, Velocity MVA winner, VIP All Star, Jump VIP winner, NUVO Breakout Artist and VIP Overall All Star winner. During the summer months, Dylan trains at diverse intensives including KBM Talent and Mather Dance -Company. She has had the opportunity to work with some well-respected choreographers including Mark Meismer, Krista Miller, Miguel Zarate, Blake McGrath, Amy Wright, Leon Blackwood and Joshua Beamish. Recently she has been assisting Dee Caspary and is also starting to choreograph. The second of three children, Dylan is known to be rather spunky and sassy and dance is the perfect outlet for her outgoing personality. She is an emotional dancer who portrays a story well through her movement. Dylan loves acting and trains intensively with Vancouver and Toronto based coaches. She has appeared in several commercials and has modeled for the tween clothing line Pearl Yukiko. To accommodate her training schedule, Dylan is completing her school studies online. She also is very interested in health and fitness. She's also known for walking on her hands and holding handstands forever! Dylan is currently training at Harbour Dance Centre and Tri-City Dance Centre. Dylan has had the privilege of sharing her passion for dance by teaching hip hop at an inner city school together with her sister and is also involved in a dance ministry that focuses on giving back. Dylan has wrapped up shooting season 5 of the Family Channel's series The Next Step, and will make her debut in the fall of 2017 as the series lead "Jacquie".
